Owners and Instructors Jens Goerner and Heather Stranks are career dance teachers, choreographers and performers with a true passion for the art of dance. Their knowledge, experience, encouragement and enthusiasm will ensure a great experience at City Dance whether you are a beginner or a seasoned dancer.

Our instructors have many years experience with the dance styles taught at City Dance. Learn to dance in a fun, and relaxed atmosphere with our professional dance instructors. We can lead you from a beginning dance student to being an accomplished dancer at your own pace with group dance classes, private dance lessons or both.
Professional Dance Instructor, Choreographer and Performer Jens has over 25 years of experience teaching all dance styles and was extensively trained in Europe in Ballroom and Latin Dance and, before immigrating from Germany, Jens owned and operated many dance studios in the Munich area. He has most recently been a studio owner, instructor, choreographer and performer in Vernon and the Shuswap. Jens’s technical knowledge paired with his ability to keep lessons fun and challenging make him an extremely popular instructor!
Heather is a Gold Medal Ice Dancer, former career Figure Skating Coach and for over 15 years has been an accomplished Tango, Ballroom, Latin, Swing and Country Dance Instructor. Her strength lies in her choreography skills, including creating beautiful first dances for the many wedding couples who come to the studio. She also established the popular “Tango Femme” ladies performance groups and with Jens, she has been co-choreographer for both Dancing with the Vernon and Dancing with the Shuswap Stars.
Jens Goerner and Heather Stranks offer performances and workshops across B.C. and Western Canada. Consider adding a professional dance performance to your event in any of the dance styles taught at City Dance.
